The owner of Equine Adventures, Sylvia, has teamed up with Dare County Alternative School to provide experiences for the students they would not otherwise have as an opportunity. She agreed to team with DCAS again this year after a successful partnership last year.  Just before Christmas, she visied the school where she was presented with a gift of pictures of the students enjoying their day at Equine Adventures.

Teachers selected students based upon improvement, performance and behavior in classes. They then spend the day at Equine Adventures where they learn how to ride a horse and the basic care of horses. For many this is the first time they have ridden a horse.  The students then go out with the instructor and apply what they have learned.

Those selected had a great time and talked about the experience for days. All teachers have been hearing is about what a wonderful time it was and when can they go again.
